This series focusses on the study and interpretation of dress and textiles throughout England and Europe, from the early medieval period to the sixteenth century. It will bring together research from a wide variety of disciplines, including language, literature, art history, social history, economics, archaeology and artefact studies. It also welcomes volumes which combine the experience of academics working in this area with more practically-based expertise from re-enactors and re-creators, offering fresh approaches to the subject.

The series is edited by Robin Netherton and Gale Owen-Crocker, whose acclaimed annual volumes, Medieval Clothing and Textiles, have brought a new vision to the subject. This parallel series, focussing on single issues, is certain to be warmly welcomed by the community.
